The East Grand Rapids branch of Kent District Library is more than a library — it's a community anchor. The second floor is home to the EGR History Room, a remarkable archive preserving the city's history including artifacts and memorabilia from Ramona Park amusement park (1897–1955) and the steamboat era on Reeds Lake. Outside stands a bronze Gerald R. Ford statue — a one-third replica of the Capitol rotunda statue honoring the president who represented East Grand Rapids in Congress for 24 years.
