At 283 acres, Reeds Lake is the centerpiece of East Grand Rapids — a fully recreational urban lake where residents kayak, fish, sail, and swim. The 4.2-mile Reeds Lake Trail loops the entire lake, connecting six parks through sidewalks, paved paths, boardwalks, and wetland preserves.
The lake is stocked with bluegill, black crappie, largemouth bass, yellow perch, and northern pike — making it one of the best urban fishing destinations in West Michigan. Canoe and kayak launches are located behind the EGR Community Center at 750 Lakeside Dr, and the Grand Rapids Yacht Club holds regattas on the lake throughout the sailing season.

It's been serving Hudsonville ice cream under a model train ceiling ever since. Open seasonally March–October.
